The first artist in residence started at UPC KU Leuven

KAOS and the UPC KU Leuven welcome artist, filmmaker and creative therapist Griet Teck as the first artist in residence at Campus Kortenberg.

Artistic residency in a psychiatric setting
For four months, Griet Teck will spend two days a week at UPC KU Leuven,Campus Kortenberg, conducting artistic research from her temporary studio. The project offers her space to experiment without pressure and seek connection with the specific psychiatric context. Her work focuses on themes such as vulnerability, connection and loss. Patients and staff are invited to be actively involved in this unique process.

About Griet Teck
Griet Teck (°1982), graduated as a filmmaker from the KASK in Ghent, works at the intersection of art, film and care. She is known for her participatory approach and documentary-inspired projects. Her work creates an open space where stories and encounters are central.

‘I start from the encounter with the other. This cinematic space and time dimension provides an open working and playing space to explore together, share stories and create connection,’ Teck says of her artistic vision.
