KAOS develops art projects with artists who may or may not be psychologically vulnerable and has an Artists in residency programme in psychiatry. It brings art and psychiatry together and tells something about the perception of this.

Open call KAOS-Yellow Art Residency 2026

Next season (September-December 2026) KAOS and kunsthuis Yellow Art jointly organize two research residencies for individual artists within a psychiatric context. Invited artists will have access to a personal workspace in the Jan Hoet House. Additionally, the kunsthuis Yellow Art studio will be open three days a week for use and interaction, with other facilities available on the premises such as the open house 't Vooruitzicht. Please note: There is no accommodation available on site.

Quiten Clause

Quinten Clause

In dreamy scenes Quinten Clause (Turnhout, 1983) paints a mixture of vague memories and personal doubts. Figurative words are depicted as literal images, suggesting a coded visual language. Bringing together recognizable elements in unusual combinations or compositions, he invites the viewer to attach a personal interpretation. Sometimes the result can be absurd or unreal, but the painter wants to give every work a certain readability.

KAOS Talk @ Kaaistudios

On Thursday 29th of January at 20:00 we will have the first KAOS Talk of this year at Kaaistudios in Brussels. Toni Brell, who was a resident at Albe (Kapellen) last summer, and Nada Gambier, who was a resident in Brussels from February to April 2025, will have a conversation about their work and their experiences during their residencies. KAOS Talks are artists talks by KAOS in coproduction with Museum Dr. Guislain (Ghent).

Guided Tour “En nu!?!” ( “And Now!?!”) and kamishibai “Schwung (or Boing)”

As part of the exhibition “En nu!?!” (“And Now!?!”), a free guided tour will be offered through the special retrospective of the versatile artist Myriam Loyens.
Afterwards, you can listen and watch the kamishibai storytelling performance of “Schwung (or Boing)”.
